AYSEN IDIL MILLIOGULLARI is an opera singer and educator. She is a doctoral candidate in Vocal Performance with a minor in Choral Conducting and the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award from the Fred Fox School of Music, University of Arizona, in 2023. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona, she taught the following courses: Music Individual Studies, Diction for Singers, and Stage Training for Opera Singers. She earned her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Mannes School of Music, The New School, and was admitted to the Bachelor’s degree program at Ankara University State Conservatory with the highest distinction and graduated with the second-highest honors. She received first prize in the Amelia Rieman Vocal Competition in 2022 and third prize in the Marguerite Ough Vocal Competition in 2021. Following her performance as Mukhtar Mai in the opera Thumbprint with the University of Arizona Opera Theater in 2024, she received a positive review from the Arizona Daily Star, which stated, "but the other reason you’ll want to see this is to hear the amazing coloratura soprano range from Milliogullari."
Upon graduating from her undergraduate program, she joined the State Opera House in Turkey as a tenured opera singer. She has performed as a soloist and chorister with the Ankara State Opera House, Samsun State Opera House, Antalya State Opera House, New York Lyric Opera Theater, Mannes Opera, and the University of Arizona Opera Theater, as well as with major orchestras such as the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the Turkish State Opera Orchestras. Currently, she performs with Arizona Opera, is a member, is a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and serves as Assistant Music Director at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
In her spare time, she enjoys being in nature, riding her bike, hiking and attending live music
performances.
